Ever felt uncomfortable writing about yourself and your business?

You’re not alone. There’s a fine line between nailing marketing, and feeling like you’re showing off.

Working with a copywriter who can get your personality, perspectives, and expertise onto the page, without making you cringe, solves (ok, majorly reduces) this discomfort.

You build trust and become known for what you do without having to say ‘pick me, pick me’.
But what if you ARE the copywriter?
This website took me about seven times longer to write than it would for a client. So if it’s hard for me, when it’s literally my job, don’t beat yourself up for second-guessing every word you’ve ever written about yourself and your business.

Like every great copywriter, I began my career as a tennis coach 😉

Ten years coaching tennis and ten in senior leadership. Communicating on the court, on TV, in boardrooms, over coffee, and from the stage. To volunteers, funders, parents, players, coaches and peers. Even to Billie Jean King and Judy Murray.

The thread of my adult life has been turning expert knowledge into something clear, usable, and interesting to the people who needed to hear it.

Becoming a copywriter meant I could finally double down on the “Jennnnn, have you got a minute…” writing skills people kept sidling up to my desk for.

“Very professional output and easy to work with Jenny. Her background research on the project and clarity of thought on options were excellent.”

In search of founder-led businesses who ain't comfortable talking about what they do

You’re brilliant at your work but frustrated that competitors are more visible. Your lack of ego is why you’re hesitating to put yourself out there more. That’s a good thing btw. Your focus on your customers is why you struggle to give marketing the time you know it deserves. Slap dash is NOT your nature.

I’m not another strategist or coach, but an implementer who turns what you know into written words that sound like you. So the strategy, goals and vision you’ve already invested in creating actually get out into the world.

How I know you’re The Right Crowd for me:

I typically work with businesses where the founder is still the face and voice of the business.

You’re growing and have a team of three or more, but no one dedicated to marketing.

My specialist knowledge lies in sport, health, fitness, and nutrition, and I’m also obsessed with personal finance, consultants of all kinds, and any industry that’s often viewed as old-fashioned.

I’m here to translate all that frustrating industry lingo into words your customers, and you, love.

Why I hate marketing

For the same reasons you do.

The best marketing succeeds because of relationships, trust, expertise, personality, and great communication.

Not chatbot-written emails

Not shady FOMO tactics

Not viral TikToks

Or inauthentic LinkedIn-fluencer posts about what your sandwich taught you about agentic AI.

I work to a WYSIWYG (wizzywig) philosophy: what you see is what you get.
But in this case it’s what you read is what you get.

My anti-marketing promise

1.

No gross tactics

Your reputation is hard-earned. If you don’t do it in person, I won’t do it in writing.

2.

You’ll always know what you’re getting

The work I do for you is agreed upfront in your proposal.

3.

Deadlines are sacred

Most projects have a first, second, and final deadline, which we agree on early. I’ll never leave you waiting or wondering.

4.

AI writes my t’s and c’s. Not your copy.

Your voice and business are inimitable. A chatbot could never cut it. I do all the writing, and your confidential information never goes near an AI platform.

5.

Revisions, not regrets

We’ll get on the same page right from our first call. I share direction with you early so we can tweak as needed, plus most projects include two rounds of revisions.
